Spa Cover Care & Maintenance Guide
Spa Cover Care & Maintenance Guide
Your spa cover is an investment — proper care will extend its lifespan, maintain its appearance, and help preserve insulation performance.
Why regular cleaning matters
Pollen, leaves, dust, and other debris not only affect the appearance of your cover but can also lead to mold, moss, and material degradation over time.
Regular maintenance helps:
Extend the life of your cover
Maintain water-repellent properties
Prevent mold and surface damage
Routine cleaning (recommended monthly)
Follow these simple steps for regular maintenance:
Rinse the cover with cold water using a garden hose
Apply a mild, pH-neutral, non-foaming cleaner
Gently clean using a soft, non-abrasive sponge
Rinse thoroughly with clean water
Allow the cover to air dry completely
Important:
Do not use detergents, bleach, alcohol, dish soap, or abrasive cleaners.
These can damage the protective coating and reduce water resistance.
Removing stubborn dirt & stains
For more persistent dirt, follow these tips:
Let a mild cleaner sit for a few minutes before wiping
Gently remove moss or mold from seams or zippers with a soft scrubbing pad
Remove tree sap using vegetable oil or margarine
Open the zipper to check and clean the interior if needed
Protecting your cover
Once the cover is clean and dry, applying a protective treatment can significantly extend its lifespan.
We recommend using a dedicated spa cover cleaner and protector to maintain water repellency, protect against UV exposure, and extend the lifespan of your cover.
Always use a material-specific cleaner:
For vinyl covers, use a dedicated vinyl cleaner and protector
For textile covers, use a fabric-safe, non-aggressive cleaner
Avoid using general household cleaning products, as they may damage the material and reduce its lifespan.
Protection – WeatherShield fabric
Apply evenly to clean, dry fabric until lightly saturated
Allow to absorb for 12–24 hours
Apply monthly during summer, every 2 months in cooler seasons
Protection – Vinyl covers
Apply a thin layer to the underside of the clean, dry cover
Spread evenly using a damp cloth or sponge
Repeat on the top and sides of the cover
Apply monthly during summer, every 2 months otherwise
Final tips
Always allow the cover to dry fully before closing
Avoid harsh chemicals at all times
Regular care will maintain both appearance and performance
